Seven albums into being a band, the Infamous Stringdusters are finding new ways to keep their music fresh. The bluegrass quintet released its seventh LP, Laws of Gravity, back in January and immediately began fiddling with the finished project. The band started by recording a mash-up of every song on the album, and then went one step further by cutting a live version of the album: Laws of Gravity: Live.
The Stringdusters release the live record digitally on Friday, June 23rd, and preview one of the tracks, “A Hard Life Makes a Good Song,” today on Rolling Stone Country. Recorded during a March 24th show in Boise, Idaho (all of the songs are from the group’s January through April tour), “A Hard Life Makes a Good Song” finds the Virginia natives in their element, strumming furiously and highlighting their multi-faceted harmonies.
